Description

26 Millgate is a mid-18th century building that was originally two houses but is now one. It is constructed of coursed sandstone and has a pantile roof. The building is two storeys high and features two first-floor windows. The corners have quoins, and the openings are topped with deep lintels. On the centre left, there is a part-glazed six-panel door set in an ashlar surround with slightly-chamfered interrupted jambs. To the right of the door, there is a two-light casement window in an altered doorway, which was formerly paired with another window. The other ground-floor windows are 20th-century casements. The first-floor windows are side-sliding sashes with projecting sills. The building has shaped kneelers and ashlar coping, along with brick stacks at the ends.
