Description

Mount Pleasant Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse with 20th-century alterations, located in North Yorkshire. The building is constructed of dressed sandstone, featuring a roof that is partly covered with pantiles and partly with concrete pantiles, along with brick stacks that have been partially rebuilt.

The farmhouse has a central entrance and a double-depth plan, with a service wing to the right. It is two stories high and has a three-window front, with a lower two-story, two-window wing to the right. The entrance door is located in the return of a projecting gabled porch, which has an 8-pane sash window at the front. The remaining windows on the front are 4-pane sashes, each with painted keyed wedge lintels. The service wing includes a renewed three-light small-pane horizontal sliding sash on the ground floor, with a gabled half-dormer above that contains an enlarged 20th-century window on the first floor to the left. The building has end stacks.

At the rear, there is a two-story, three-window front with a central boarded door that has an overlight. Most of the windows are 4-pane sashes, except for the original 12-pane sash on the first floor to the right. All openings have painted keyed wedge lintels, and there are end stacks. The gable walls to the left are two stories high with an attic. Each gable end features a 12-pane sash window on the ground and first floors, with the first floor right having a blind window. The attic windows are unequal 9-pane sashes, and all openings have thin timber lintels. The interior has not been inspected but is reported to be unmodernised.
