Description
The gate-piers and gate, located approximately 25 metres south west of The Mansion, were built in the late 19th century and are made of wrought iron. The piers stand about 1.5 metres high and feature a square-section design with an openwork pattern that includes St. Andrews crosses and geometric panels. Each pier is topped with a shallow pyramidal cap. The gate itself has seven rails and is reinforced with straps shaped like two St. Andrews crosses, which include roundels resembling a rose. The top bar of the gate is adorned with two decorative wrought-iron scrolls. This structure is included for its group value.
