Description

The gates and gate-piers located to the east of the Church of St Andrew in Grinton were constructed around 1896. They feature cast-iron gates and ashlar piers. There is a single gate at both the south and north ends, each gate flanked by piers topped with pyramidal caps. The south gate includes a wrought-iron lamp bracket above it. The gates are designed with paired mid-rails that have rose motifs between them and spear finials on the vertical elements. These structures are included mainly for their group value with the church.
