Description
This is an arched entrance to a jetty or boathouse located on the south side of the Lower Fish Pond, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. The structure is made of gritstone rubble and features a wall that is approximately 5 metres long and 2.5 metres high, which is pierced by a wide round-headed arch. The top of the arch has ashlar coping. The front side of the archway, which faces north, is not visible. On the south side, there are wooden posts that likely serve as footings for the wall or jetty.
