Description
Ashley Cottage is a range of cottages and an outbuilding that has been converted into a single dwelling. The structure consists of several builds from the 18th to 19th centuries, with remodeling done in the 20th century. It features whitewashed brick in stretcher bond and whitewashed rubble chalk at the left end, topped with a pantile roof and brick stacks.
The building is two stories high with a three-window range on the left and a one-and-a-half story, two-window range on the right. There is a six-panel door with a segmental header brick arch located to the center right. To the end right, there is a two-light, small-pane, horizontal sliding sash window under a similar arch. The end left has a four-pane sash window with a gauged brick arch. The remaining windows are horizontal sliding sashes, including a 20th-century half dormer at the center. The building has end stacks and is included for its group value.
