Description

The property comprises a house, originally built in 1736 and subsequently altered and subdivided into a pair of houses at Nos. 6 and 7 Hunmanby Street. The exterior is rendered and colour-washed, with a pantile roof and brick stacks. The original design featured a three-cell, direct-entry plan, with a rear outshut added later. Quoins are visible. A 20th-century half-glazed door with an overlight is set within the original opening to the left of the centre, while a later inserted glazed door is further to the left, accompanied by a four-pane sash window. Two similar windows are located to the right, and three windows are present on the first floor. A rectangular recessed datestone, set within a rounded keyed architrave over the original doorway, is inscribed “II R H ANNO 1736”. All original openings have keyed surrounds, now painted. Plinth and first-floor bands are also visible. End and right-of-centre stacks are present. Inside No. 7, a bressummer survives in the centre room.
