Description

SOUTH STAINLEY WITH CAYTON RIPON ROAD SE 26 SE (west side, off) Cayton 1/121 Laundry and game larder approximately 5 metres west of Cayton Hall GV II

Laundry and game larder. Mid-late C18. Coursed squared gritstone and cobbles, stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 2 bays. Quoins. Paired board doors with quoined jambs and plain lintel right, inserted window to right again. Flat-faced mullion windows throughout, of 4 lights to ground and first floors, left and of 3 lights to first floor right with 2 right-hand lights blocked. The right-hand window continues with 8 lights across the north- facing right return of the building and originally ventilated the game larder. Coved eaves band. Hipped roof, end stack left. Interior: ground floor left: laundry room with cast iron and copper set pots.
