Description

This building is a laundry and game larder located approximately 5 meters west of Cayton Hall, dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared gritstone and cobbles, topped with a stone slate roof. The structure is two storeys high and has two bays, featuring quoins at the corners.

On the right side, there are paired board doors with quoined jambs and a plain lintel, along with an inserted window. The building has flat-faced mullion windows, with four lights on both the ground and first floors on the left side, and three lights on the first floor on the right side, of which two lights are blocked. The right-hand window extends with eight lights across the north-facing right return of the building, which originally ventilated the game larder. The eaves are coved, and the roof is hipped with an end stack on the left side.

Inside, the ground floor on the left contains a laundry room equipped with cast iron and copper set pots.
