Description
The Brewhouse is a building that was originally a brewhouse and later served as a laundry for Brodsworth Hall. It dates from the mid-18th century and is constructed of cement-rendered rubble limestone with a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys with attics and is arranged in a 4 by 4 bay layout.
The entrance front features twin gables and an arcade of four round arches, which have an impost band and keystones. There is a 20th-century door within the left arch, while the other arches contain 20th-century casements. On the first floor, there is a sill band and a central sash window with glazing bars set in a square-faced surround. Each gable has an eaves band and a Diocletian window. The gable copings are made of ashlar stone.
There is a brick stack located in the valley and a rendered stack on the right ridge. On the left side of the building, there are sash windows with glazing bars in each bay on both the ground and first floors. The right side features an original wide doorway set in a projecting square-faced surround.
