Description

The Archery Pavilion is a garden pavilion built in the early 18th century, altered in the late 19th century, and restored around 1994. It is constructed of ashlar stone with ashlar dressings, featuring timber and Welsh slate roofs. The pavilion has rusticated quoins and is a single storey. The south front showcases a single Venetian window framed by Ionic pilasters and a full entablature with a pulvinated frieze, which is adorned with unusual Gothic style glazing. Above this window is a small circular window with a plain ashlar surround. The roof has very deeply overhanging eaves, decorated with pierced bargeboards and tall finials, and is supported by eight rough wooden poles.
