Description
The Lodge, located on Allhallowsgate in Ripon, was built in 1854 and is constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and a slate roof. The building features a central block that is two storeys high, with a moulded string course and coped gables. It has three bays, including casements and a tripartite stone mullioned window in the center of the first floor. The central gable is shaped and includes a lancet. There is a carriage entrance with a four-centred head and flanking buttresses, topped with a parapet that displays the inscription "ERECTED AD 1854" in sans-serif lettering. The building also has one-storey flanking wings, each with three bays that contain sashes with glazing bars set in plain raised stone surrounds. The east wing extends southward towards the road, featuring a stone coped end gable and stone quoins.
