Description
This is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century, with earlier origins in the 17th century, and refronted in the late 19th century with 20th-century alterations. The farmhouse is built of watershot masonry with stone dressings and a stone slate roof. It originally had a central staircase plan. The front of the building is three bays wide. The main entrance, located slightly to the right of centre, has a plain surround and a six-panel door with a gabled slate hood. The ground floor and upper floor each have two windows that are three-light designs with recessed, flat-faced mullions and 20th-century casements. The left-hand bay has a former two-light mullioned window on the ground floor, where the mullion is now missing, with sashes and glazing bars; above it is a two-light recessed, flat-faced mullioned window with casements. Shaped gable end kneelers and coping are present. Gable end, ridge, and a stack are located to the left of centre. The rear of the farmhouse contains some 17th-century windows, including on the ground floor two two-light chamfered mullioned windows, one missing a mullion, and a former three-light window where the mullions have been removed. An upper floor window is notably a small two-light chamfered mullioned design. A round-headed staircase window with a keyed lintel and Gothic interlace glazing bars is also present. The interior is not accessible.
