Description
Anvil House is a former smithy that has been converted into a cottage, dated 1797 with 20th-century alterations. The building features a rendered exterior with painted stone dressings and a tiled roof. It has a central staircase plan and stands two storeys tall with a double front. The central entrance has a plain surround and a mid-20th-century gabled hood, leading to a four-panel door with the upper two panels glazed. Each storey has two windows, all of which are two-light flat faced mullioned windows with mid-20th-century six-pane casements. Above the entrance is a datestone inscribed with "A I M". The building was reroofed around 1980 and has gable end ridge stacks.
