Description
The Maypole Inn is an inn that dates from the late 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and origins that trace back to the 17th century. It features a rendered exterior with painted stone dressings and a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. The entrance, located to the left of the centre, includes a mid-19th century porch supported by Tuscan pilasters and a double leaf six-panel door. There are three tripartite windows on both the ground and upper floors, each with moulded surrounds, flat faced mullions, and projecting sills. The building also has projecting quoins, shaped kneelers, and gable end coping. There are ridge stacks at the gable end and one to the right of centre, with a projecting 17th-century stack that rests on two stone corbels.
