Description
This is a range of outbuildings located approximately 10 metres east of Wrelton Hall, consisting of a barn with an attached stable and carriage shed. The buildings date from the mid-18th century and were extended in the early 19th century. They are constructed of dressed limestone on a plinth, with sandstone quoins and a pantile roof.
The barn is two storeys high and has a two-bay front, while the stable and carriage shed extension to the right is one and a half storeys and has three bays. The buildings are positioned gable-end on the street, set on sloping ground. The barn features double plank doors located left of centre and a board door at the right end, along with ground-floor ventilation slits and a single pitching window in the loft, all with timber lintels.
The stable and carriage shed have double plank doors leading to the carriage shed, a stable door, and a four-pane pivoting window to the left, with a shuttered pitching window above the stable door. The gables are coped and have shaped kneelers. At the rear, there is a six-panel door with a tooled lintel leading to the stable. The left gable end facing the street includes ground-floor ventilation slits and a square pitching opening in the gable. This range of outbuildings is included for its group value.
