Description

Manor Garth is a late 18th-century house located on the east side of Main Street in Wrelton. Constructed of squared limestone bonded to a sandstone plinth, it features chamfered, tooled sandstone quoins and a pantile roof with rendered brick stacks. The house has a central-entry plan, with a depth of one and a half rooms, and presents a two-storey, three-window front with a gable end facing the street. A 20th-century glazed door with a divided overlight provides access. All windows are 12-pane sashes with painted sills, and the openings are finished with painted lintels incorporating fasciated keyblocks. A raised first-floor band runs along the front, and a cavetto-moulded eaves cornice returns at each end. The gables are coped, with shaped kneelers, and there are end stacks. The left return features a door consisting of six recessed panels with a divided overlight, set beneath a painted wedge lintel.
