Description
No. 2 Vernon Road is a late 18th-century building that stands five storeys tall with an attic. It is constructed of brick and features a stone plinth, a wooden frieze, and a cornice at the gutter level. The roof has been altered to a Mansard style covered with slate. The building has two dormer windows and two windows on the second floor. On the first floor, there is a one-storey segmental bow with three windows, along with one window and a door to the left on the ground floor. The entrance consists of a six-panelled door with a plain rectangular fanlight, set within a Greek Doric doorcase that has engaged columns and an entablature featuring a triglyph frieze. No. 2 Vernon Road is part of a group that includes the Public Library and Nos. 1, 4, and 6.
