Description

1 Vernon Road is a late 18th century building that stands three storeys tall with an attic. It is constructed of brick with a stone plinth, featuring a wooden frieze and a gutter cornice, topped by a pantile roof. The facade includes one dormer window and two bays, with windows that have four panes each. At the north end, there is a six-panelled door set within a Greek Doric doorcase, which is adorned with engaged columns and an entablature. Above the door, there is a rectangular fanlight with narrow glazing. This building is part of a group that includes the Public Library and Nos 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6.
