Description
4 and 6 Vernon Road are late 18th century houses that stand three storeys tall, with No 6 featuring a basement. They are constructed of brick and topped with a pantile roof. Each house has one bay, which is divided by an original cast lead rainwater head and pipe. On the first floor, there is a one-storey bow with an entablature that includes a small cornice and a curved apron. The central entrance features two four-panelled doors set within a recessed porch, flanked by plain pilasters and a frieze, topped with a bracketed box cornice. Above the porch, there is one panel and a divided window on the second floor. The Public Library and Nos 1, 2, 4, and 6 form a group.
