Description
No. 87 Castle Street is an 18th-century building featuring two storeys and an attic, topped with a mansard roof. It has one window on each floor, including the attic, located in the gabled end. The structure is timber-framed and plastered in panels, with casement windows. The roof is covered with pantiles and plain tiles. The entrance consists of a vertical boarded door, flanked by panelled pilasters, and features a frieze and cornice. The building is positioned close to the road, with a drop of four feet below the road level. The facade facing the road is blank and pargetted with panels, and it is painted below, including a brick plinth. No. 87 is part of a group that includes Nos. 136 to 140 (even).
