Description
41 Bredfield Street is a late 18th-century building that has undergone alterations and additions. This two-storey structure was formerly an inn and is constructed of painted brick with a pantile roof. It features two windows with sash frames that now have only vertical glazing bars. The entrance includes a four-panel door with a wood ease. To the west, there is a two-storey weather-boarded wing with a loft. Inside, the building has plank doors with strap hinges, a stop-chamfered beam, and two first-floor mantels supported by slender shaped brackets. Historical deeds suggest the property dates back to the 1700s. It is listed as a Grade II building, partly due to its significance as a terminal feature visible from the approach along North Street.
