Description

This is a milepost located on the north side of Skipton Road in Killinghall, dating from the mid-19th century. It features a cast-iron plate mounted on a gritstone block and is triangular in shape, standing approximately 80 centimetres high with a rounded head. The inscriptions on the milepost include "SKIPTON & KNARESBOROUGH ROAD KILLINGHALL" on the head, "HARROGATE 3 MILES KNARESBORO 5 3/4 MILES" on the left face, and "SKIPTON 19 MILES" on the right face.
