Description

This is a milepost from the mid-19th century. It features a cast-iron plate attached to a gritstone block. The milepost is triangular in shape, standing approximately one metre high with a rounded head. The inscriptions on the head read "DUDLEY HILL KILLINGHALL & HARROGATE ROAD KILLINGHALL." The left face indicates "KILLINGHALL 1½ MILES," while the right face shows "BRADFORD 19 MILES." The iron plate is secured to the stone slab with two round-headed bolts through the head.
