Description
Hollins Hall Farmhouse is a house dated 1732, built for Thomas Lund, with a roof replaced in the late 19th century. It is constructed from coursed squared gritstone and features purple slates and quoins. The building has two storeys and five bays, following a lobby-entrance plan.
On the south front, there are two entrances: the second bay has a 20th-century board door set in a cyma-moulded quoined surround with a shallow triangular door-head and a deep lintel. The fourth bay features a shallow projecting two-storey gabled porch with a similar doorcase, and the lintel is inscribed with "TL" and the date 1732 in a square frame.
The windows throughout are recessed chamfered mullion windows, with three four-light windows on the ground floor, all having raised lintels and a continuous hoodmould. The first floor has three three-light windows, a similar two-light window above the left door, and a single-light window in the porch. There is a wooden fascia board and gutter brackets. The external stack is located on the left, with a large square ridge stack opposite the porch, both featuring cornices. The interior was not inspected during the resurvey.
