Description

Laurel Cottage is a house dating to 1764. It is constructed of pink and brown gritstone with a graduated stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. It features quoins. The central entrance doorway has four fielded panels and two flush panels within a chamfered tie-stone surround, with a plaque above inscribed "W:S". There are four-pane sash windows within stone surrounds to both the ground and first floors; the ground floor window sills are cut away to accommodate deeper frames. A small round-headed window is located on the first floor, centrally. The roof has bulbous kneelers, gable copings, and banded end stacks.
