Description
Kirk and Little Smeaton War Memorial is made of granite and is located within a small enclosure defined by a low granite kerb filled with shingle. The memorial features a tapering pillar topped with an urn, rising from a three-tiered plinth and a single-step base, all crafted from grey granite. The names of the men from Kirk and Little Smeaton who died in the First and Second World Wars are incised on the faces of the plinth, which also includes a decorative foliate design.
The front face of the memorial has the inscription: "IN MEMORY OF THOSE WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1918 (NAMES) ALSO (NAMES) 1939 – 1945." The side face features the inscription: "KIRK AND LITTLE SMEATON ROLL OF HONOUR (NAMES)."
