Description

Rose Cottage is a house dating from the mid-to-late 18th century, built in two stages. The front is rendered and whitewashed, with stone dressings and a pantile roof. The main block is three bays and has a central entrance with a plank door and wedge lintel. The ground floor windows are 12-pane Yorkshire sashes, while the first floor has a mix of 24-pane, 4-pane, and 12-pane Yorkshire sashes, all set under flat arches and with ashlar sills. A two-bay range adjoins the right side and projects slightly; this was raised and incorporates former farm buildings, now part of the house, and extends to the rear. This range contains a multi-paned casement window and a 4-pane sash window. An end stack and a ridge stack are present.
