Description
Low Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the late 17th century, with additions and alterations made in the late 18th century, 19th century, and 20th century. It is constructed from magnesian limestone rubble, featuring ashlar and brick dressings, and has a roof made of stone slate and pantiles. The building has two storeys and includes two first-floor windows, with a range at the rear. Quoins are present at the first-floor level. The entrance is through a 20th-century central porch that has a glazed door. The windows are 12-pane sashes throughout, with brick quoined jambs under cambered heads on the ground floor and soldier arches on the first floor, all featuring stone sills. There are end stacks on the building. On the left gable, there are remains of two mullion windows; one is a three-light mullion window with one mullion missing and has a hoodmould above, while the other only retains the hoodmould. The right gable is cement rendered but may conceal similar windows. Inside, some windows have shutters. The farmhouse is included for its group value only.
