Description

This stable, byre, and barn range, built in the mid to late 18th century, is located approximately 50 meters southeast of New Bridge Cottage. Constructed from coursed squared gritstone, it features a graduated stone slate roof and stands two storeys high with three bays. The building has quoined corners, and the stable door on the left has a segmental-arched lintel with quoined jambs. The central byre door has a large lintel and quoined jambs, and it appears that the lintels for both doors may have been raised. To the right, there is a quoined segmental-arched barn entrance with double-board doors. On the first floor, there is a board door in a quoined surround on the left and a square boarded opening with a stone surround on the right. The building features shaped kneelers and gable copings. Inside, the stable includes wooden ramped stall partitions and mangers.
