Description

Nidd House is a house dated 1795, built for Samuel Moorhouse. It is constructed from grey sandy gritstone with a blue slate roof, featuring six courses of stone eaves. The house is two storeys high and has a double-depth plan spanning three bays. The central entrance is a six-panelled door with glazed upper panels, set within square-cut jambs and lintel, surmounted by a datestone inscribed ‘S M 1795’. Six-pane sash windows are present throughout, set in slightly projecting surrounds. The building has shaped kneelers and gable coping. Banded stacks are located at the ends. The interior was not inspected during a recent review.
