Description
This is a barn and stable range built in the mid-18th century, with a 19th-century addition and alterations made in 1928, which included raising the stable door lintel and re-slating the roof. The structure is made of coursed squared gritstone and has a graduated stone slate roof. It consists of four bays, with an additional bay on the left. The building features quoins and has a cart entrance with double board doors, quoined jambs, and a segmental arch in the third bay. On the far right, there is a byre door with quoined jambs that are tied into the building's quoins. In the first bay, there are external steps leading to a hay loft door with quoined jambs, and a dog kennel located beneath the steps. The second bay contains a stable door with long and short jamb stones, a window to the left, and a square ventilated window above. Inside, there are two king-post trusses with splayed struts and two queen-strut trusses. The added bay on the left has a 20th-century sliding door and a square pitching door above. The building is also adorned with shaped kneelers and gable coping.
