Description

Milestone located at Holme Bridge, dating from the 19th century. It is made of cast iron and sits on a stone base. The milestone has a triangular prism shape with a rounded top. The sides display the distances to various locations: "Skipton 3¾ miles Keighley 13 miles" and "Settle 11¾ miles Kendal 45 miles". The top of the milestone is inscribed with "Keighley and Kendal Road - Gargrave".
