Description

Ray Bridge No. 172 is a public road bridge built around 1790, designed by engineer Robert Whitworth. The bridge is constructed of dressed stone and features an elliptical arch with rusticated voussoirs, a band, and a solid parapet. The curved abutments terminate in piers.
