Description

This is a 19th century iron milestone located 300 meters north of Farnhill Bridge, on the A629. It was cast by William Towler at the Globe Foundry in Leeds. The milestone has a triangular prism shape with a semi-circular top. The front displays the words "Keighley and Kendal Road, Farnhill." The left-hand panel indicates distances to Skipton (3 1/4 miles), Settle (18 3/4 miles), and Kendal (48 miles), while the right-hand panel shows the distance to Keighley (6 miles).
