Description
Stonegate Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century or early 18th century, which has been altered and recently extended to the west. It is constructed of coursed rubble and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys, with the facade facing the road displaying large quoins on the left side only.
On the ground floor, there are two windows: one is formed from a chamfered doorway, while the other is a 2-light unmoulded stone mullion window. Additionally, there is a small blocked light next to the second window. The first floor includes a small sash window with an unmoulded surround, one small fixed light, and a 2-light window similar to that on the ground floor. The cottage also features a stop-chamfered doorway and has three chimneys. The left gable end has one 2-light double chamfered stone mullioned window on the ground floor and one 3-light chamfered stone mullion window on the first floor. The right gable is a new addition.
