Description

Hutton House is a house dating to 1728, with later alterations. A plaque above the front door bears the initials "C & A" and the date. The house is constructed of whitewashed rubble walls with stone dressings and has a graduated slate roof. It is two storeys high, with cellars below, and displays an irregular facade of three windows. The windows are 20th-century casements set within moulded architraves. The central front door is panelled and located within an eared architrave featuring a pulvinated frieze and a steeply-pitched pediment. To the left of the door, the top half of a two-light window is visible, featuring a stepped chamfered mullion and surround, illuminating the cellar below. The entrance is accessed via four semi-circular stone steps. The building has a plinth and end chimneys.
