Description

The Old Bank Cottage and Aysgarth Cottage are two cottages, likely dating from the 17th century, with subsequent alterations. They are constructed with roughcast render and have a graduated greenslate roof with a stone ridge. The cottages are two storeys high, with the upper floor overhanging at the front. Each cottage has one bay. Old Bank Cottage features a 20th-century aluminium-glazed door and a 19th-century bay window with a 20th-century top-hung casement window above. Aysgarth Cottage has a glazed door and a 19th-century sash window with vertical glazing bars on the lower floor, and a sash window without glazing bars above. The upper floor is supported by two substantial circular stone columns and a smaller rectangular column on the left side.
