Description

The Market Cross is an 18th-century structure made of dressed limestone. It features a corniced tapering column that stands on a moulded square base, which is set on a plinth with a chamfered base. This plinth is elevated on three octagonal steps. On the south-west face of the second step, there are indentations that are said to be the remains of leg-irons that were used as stocks.
