Description
Milestone located west of Meathaw Hill, likely from the early 19th century, was created for the Penrith-Alston Turnpike. It is made of whitewashed stone and features a round top with a squared base. The face of the milestone has incised lettering that reads "ALSTON 4" and "PENRITH 15" in four lines, highlighted in black, with a bench mark above.
