Description
Stone House Barn, located approximately 25 yards southeast of Wordsworth House, is a former barn that has been converted into a residential property. It likely dates from the 17th century and has undergone some alterations over time. The barn is constructed of coursed, squared rubble with quoins and features a graduated slate roof. It is two storeys high and consists of three bays.
On the ground floor, there is a plank door set in a chamfered surround on the left side, with two vent slits above it. To the right on the first floor, there is a studded plank door that is believed to be from the 17th century; it was originally accessed by steps that have since been removed. Additionally, there is a plank loft door on the east return. The south elevation, which faces the road, includes vent slits. This building is part of a group with Stone House, surrounding a cobbled yard.
