Description
This milestone, located approximately 70 meters north of Braithwaite Bridge on the Kendal/Lancaster Canal, dates from around 1816. It is made of limestone and features an upright post with a round head. Each side has dressed oval panels, with the number 15 inscribed on the south side, indicating the distance to Lancaster, and the number 12 on the north side, indicating the distance to Kendal.
