Description

This barn, originally built as a mill, is likely from the late 18th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble and cobble, with a slate roof. The roof has an M-shape with a double gable facing the road. The site is on a slope, which means the first-floor entrance is at a higher level at the rear, accessed through a wide doorway with a timber lintel and a slated canopy. The south wall features a blocked first-floor doorway with a timber lintel, as well as two ground-floor doors and three windows with plain reveals. A later garage opening is visible on the north wall, with a door positioned above it on the first floor and a wooden lintel. The west wall, facing the road, has four blocked window openings on each floor and two openings to the attic. Inside, the roof spans two sections with a solid wall dividing them. The trusses are made of hardwood, with some replacements. They incorporate tie beams, and some have high collars and queen struts.
