Description
This milestone, located approximately 100 meters south of Holme Warehouse Bridge on the Kendal/Lancaster Canal, dates from around 1816. It is made of limestone and features an upright stone with a round head. Each side has dressed oval panels, with the number 16 inscribed on the south side, indicating the distance in miles from Lancaster, and the number 11 on the north side, indicating the distance from Kendal.
