Description

Holme Park Bridge, built around 1816, is a canal bridge likely designed by engineer John Fletcher, based on the original plans of John Rennie, whose route for the canal was approved in 1792. The bridge is constructed of squared, coursed limestone, featuring a limestone string course, copings, and a rounded fender course. It has an elliptical arch adorned with rusticated voussoirs and a keystone. The ramped parapets have flat tops and end in pilasters. The bridge is approximately 3.5 meters wide between the parapets, with steps leading up at the north-west corner.
