Description
No. 69, which includes Nos. 69A and 69B, is a building originally constructed as a bank in 1792 for Maude, Wilson and Crewdson Bank. The exterior features incised stucco with rusticated quoins and a first-floor sill band. It has a wooden eaves cornice with a decorative rainwater head and a graduated slate roof with stone end chimneys. The building stands three storeys high and has three bays. A late 19th-century or early 20th-century shop front has been inserted within the earlier structure; this includes a part-glazed door set back between plate-glass windows with curved corners and a traceried frieze. There is a passage through to the rear on the right side.
