Description
Mansion House is a late 18th-century house that has been divided into two residences. It is constructed of roughly-squared, coursed limestone with stone dressings and features a graduated greenslate roof. The building stands two storeys high with attics that are lit from the gable. The façade has three windows, which are sashes with glazing bars set in plain surrounds, with the central window having a cornice above it. A central 12-panelled door is flanked by Tuscan pilasters that support a pediment. The house has a low plinth, chamfered quoins, and two chimneys at the ends.
On the right-hand return facing north, there are four windows, all sashes with glazing bars, although the second from the left is blind. The ground floor features a 20th-century door with a glazed porch that has been inserted into the window opening second from the right. The attic is illuminated by a Diocletian window with interlaced glazing bars, which is set in the gable above a string course at eaves level. A staircase window at the rear has a round head and interlaced glazing bars. The southern part of the house is said to retain the original staircase, while the rest of the interior appears to have been mostly modernized.
