Description
These barns, located adjacent to Petteril Green, date from the early 19th century. They are constructed from dressed grey sandstone with V-jointed quoins and feature a greenslate roof, although some sections have been replaced with corrugated asbestos. The barns are arranged in a U-shape and are two storeys high. The central range includes three ground-floor doorways and two windows, all of which are topped by loft doorways and vented windows set in stone surrounds. The left section has a large segmental cart doorway with a quoined surround, along with slit vents and doorways beneath the windows. The right section features enlarged doorways under the lofts and openings with stone surrounds. Other adjoining extensions are not of particular interest. The barns have group value with Petteril Green.
