Description
Town End Farmhouse and the adjoining barns date from the mid 18th century. The farmhouse features painted rendered walls and a graduated greenslate roof, complemented by banded rendered chimney stacks. The barns are constructed from mixed sandstone rubble walls topped with a sandstone flag roof, while the upper part is covered with greenslate. The farmhouse is two storeys high and consists of five bays, with the lower left barns forming an L-shape and comprising three bays. A central 20th-century door is set within a painted stone surround. The windows are casement style with glazing bars, also framed in painted stone surrounds. The barns include plank doors and loft doorways, which are fitted with slit vents.
