Description

The Crampton Table Tomb, located to the south of the Docker Tomb in Heversham, dates back to the 18th century, with the earliest inscription recorded in 1760. It features a stone slab top and stone panels on the sides and ends, with applied urns at the corners. The inscriptions on the tomb commemorate several individuals: Richard Crampton of Milnthorpe, who passed away on February 14, 1760, at the age of 55; Agnes, wife of George Bond, who died on November 21, 1771, at the age of 24; Robert Crampton, who died on September 27, 1773, at the age of 20; Agnes Crampton, wife and mother of the above, who died on April 7, 17?3, at the age of 66; and Jane Cater, niece to the above, who died on March 14, 1825, at the age of 42, remembered for living and dying respected.
