Description

A pair of shops with living accommodation above, dating from the early to mid-19th century, located in Ulverston. The buildings are constructed with painted scored render and have a slate roof. They are three storeys high, with each building featuring two bays. The windows have narrow painted surrounds and projecting sills. Most windows are glazing bar sashes, however, the left-hand ground-floor window of No. 30 has a single plate of glass in an enlarged surround, the right-hand ground-floor window of No. 28 is a 20th-century casement, and the right-hand second-floor window of No. 28 is a sashed window lacking glazing bars. The left-hand bay of No. 28 is blank on the second floor. The ground-floor doorways are paired, with reeded surrounds, corner decorations (paterae), and segmental cornices. No. 28 has a six-panel door. Chimneys are situated to the left and right of the buildings.
